6. Using the Digital Drum Software & Game

This chapter discusses the VirtualDrumX Software program including the Game program. First is a discussion of what you need to do before starting the program, followed by a discussion of the operation of the program.

6.2 Starting the VirtualDrumX Software Program

Note:While running VirtualDrumX software, do not remove either the USB cable or the Music CD during play without first exiting the program. There are two ways to start the VirtualDrumX software program.

Method 1: From your Windows Desktop, double-click the icon for ¡§VirtualDrumX¡¨
Method 2: Click ¡§Start¡¨ and then ¡§Programs¡¨, and select ¡§VirtualDrumX¡¨ After starting the VirtualDrumX software program.

The options available in the above initial opening menu are:

A. PLAY: Enters the main menu of the software application program for ¡§VirtualDrumX¡¨.
B. UPDATE: On-line update over the Internet, You must first have registered to become a member and to update your information. You will need the serial number from the label on the back of the Master Controller for this function.
C. HELP: Contains explanations of software operation and includes a Tutorial film.
D. EXIT: This will close and exit the software program.

6.2.1 Selecting JoyStick Controller & CD-ROM Drive to Configure VirtualDrumX

Important Note: To operate the VirtualDrumX software, you will have to perform the CD-ROM and JOYSTICK selection in the Digital Drum menu as described in section 6.4
